International Forum of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities

«Issues of Continuing Pedagogical Education: Traditions and Innovations» was the theme of the International Forum, which was held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities (hereinafter EAPU) on 4 October, 2018 in honor of the 90th anniversary of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

The purpose of the forum is to discuss the state of the system of continuous pedagogical education and the training of teachers in the CIS countries in modern conditions; further development of the interstate platform for the implementation of the main areas of integration cooperation in support of science and innovation activities in the field of continuing teacher education.

The forum was attended by the Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rectors of universities affiliated with the EAPU, as well as rectors and professors of foreign partner universities of Abai KazNPU (France, USA, Great Britain, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Japan, Turkey, Ukraine), scientists, teachers of higher educational institutions of the CIS countries and the Republic of Kazakhstan, teaching staff and doctoral students of Abai KazNPU.

Rector Takir Balykbayev, Vice-Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aymagambetov and rectors of foreign universities delivered a welcoming speech.

The forum was opened by rector Takir Balykbaev. He noted the importance of the International Forum of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities. Vice-Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aymagambetov spoke and congratulated the rector and the university staff, all the participants of the forum on the upcoming anniversary of Abai KazNPU and handed the head of the university a congratulatory address on behalf of the Minister of Education and Science Yerlan Sagadiyev.

«The significance of the forum of higher education teachers, which takes place on the eve of the 90th anniversary of one of the leading universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, cannot be overestimated, especially since changes are currently taking place in the sphere of higher education and higher education in our country. A very important example is the creation on the initiative of Abai KazNPU and the Moscow Pedagogical University of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities. This is the first interstate public organization that aims to integrate in the field of education and science of the EAEU countries, and eventually, possibly, of the CIS countries. We are confident that the activities of the Eurasian Association will contribute to the successful formation of a scientific and educational humanitarian space, the mutual enrichment of national cultures, the development and strengthening of ties between our countries ...» The Vice-Minister wished creative success and new achievements in the development of the university.

The following presentations were made at the forum: Rector of Abai KazNPU, Takir Balykbaev («The Role of the National Pedagogical University in the Development of Continuing Teacher Education»); Rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University (Russia) Alexey​​​​​​​ Lubkov («Development of Continuing Teacher Education in Russia: Traditions and Modernity»); rector of the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University (Belarus) Alexander Zhuk («Determinants of the development of the system of continuous pedagogical education in the Republic of Belarus»); Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after H. Abovyan Srbui (Armenia) Srbuhi Gevorgyan («Development of Teacher Education in Armenia»).

The forum was held in five main areas:
- Traditions and innovations of modern continuous pedagogical education.
- Modern national scientific schools in higher pedagogical education.
- The role of continuous teacher education in the system of professional growth of a modern teacher.
- Methods of teaching disciplines at school and university in terms of updating the content of school education.
- Training of teachers in the context of the introduction of new digital and information technologies.

The forum addressed the following issues: the involvement of leading scientists of the EAEU countries in a joint discussion of the issues of continuing teacher education; maintaining a continuous scientific dialogue on key issues of integration into the global educational space; identification of the main trends and key events of national education systems and higher pedagogical education; the development of strategic proposals and recommendations for the development of continuing pedagogical education; promoting the development of effective models of interaction between the EAEU countries in the field of improving the quality of higher pedagogical education further formation and strengthening of the image of the EAPU; expansion of cross-country scientific exchange and interaction of pedagogical universities.

According to the unanimous opinion of the forum participants, its work was very productive.
