An open lesson for a 2nd year doctoral student


On November 19, Zhazira Kumisbekova, a 2nd-year PhD student in the Department of "Kazakh Language Theory and Teaching Methods" at the Philological Institute of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, specializing in "Kazakh Language and Literature," conducted an open lesson as part of the subject "Methods of Developing Functional Literacy." The lesson focused on the features of composing descriptive texts discussed during Practical Lesson №10 on a chosen topic (animate and inanimate). It was aimed at teaching students how to prepare descriptive texts and develop a system of tasks to master descriptive techniques.

 

Purpose of the lesson: To define descriptive texts, their structure, functions, types, and methods of description. During the lesson, tasks were created and organized into a point system with three categories, scored at 10, 20, 30, and 40 points. Methods used to encourage students: "Ornekti oi" "Shiyrshyk" "Discussion of Ideas," "Personalities Speak," "Pictures Speak," and "Word Associations." These methods aim to develop students` speed, quick thinking, and articulate responses.
