Formation of reading literacy of primary school students

On June 24-25, 2024, in library No. 14, a 1st-year doctoral student of the Department of Primary Education at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai University, Alua Ibraikhanova, conducted an excursion on the topic "in the summer holidays with a good book" with primary school students.

The purpose of the excursion is the formation of reading literacy of younger schoolchildren based on the interaction of "teacher-child-parent", as well as effective leisure activities during the summer holidays.

During the tour, a trip to the world of books was organized for young readers and parents. During the event, the children were shown the exhibition "Journey into the world of books" from recently received books in the library.

Children were encouraged to read during the summer holidays, promoting advanced fiction. In addition, primary school students were supported in choosing books.

At the end of the tour, a list of interesting books was compiled called "read for yourself and give a book to others", which the little readers presented to each other. Interesting games were played for children and advertising was carried out in order to involve students in the educational club "book kaleidoscope".
