A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Abai University and the Department of Education of Almaty

On February 29, 2024, a solemn ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between KazNPU named after Abai and the Department of Education of Almaty took place. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board-Rector of the University Bolat Tlep, head of the city Department of Education Lyazzat Zhylkybayeva, heads of education departments of Nauryzbai, Turksib, Medeu, Alatau, Zhetysu, Bostandyk, Auezov and Almaly districts, heads of structural divisions of Abai KazNPU responsible for academic orientation.

Bolat Tlep stressed the importance of the meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation with secondary educational institutions of the country. He spoke in detail about the activities and achievements of Abai University and shared the results of the main project "Pedagogical Class", which is being implemented within the framework of the university`s partnership in 14 schools in Almaty. He also focused on the problem of the gap between urban and rural schools of the country and shared plans to eliminate the shortage of teaching staff within the framework of the Comfortable School project, improve the quality of education and qualifications of teachers, employ graduates, provide qualified teaching staff to the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting with representatives of the Almaty Department of Education, topical issues in the field of higher and secondary education were discussed, ways of implementing important initiatives of the National Report and key tasks for the implementation of the Comfortable School project, eliminating the shortage of teachers in public and private schools, strengthening inclusive education in special educational institutions and providing specialists, increasing the number of teaching classes, expanding the exchange of experience in academic and scientific fields.

It was noted that pedagogical classes are successfully operating in 14 secondary education institutions in Almaty, where more than 200 students study. In addition, 21 branches of Abai University departments have been opened in 16 organizations of secondary general education in Almaty.

The signing of the memorandum of cooperation is an important step in strengthening the partnership between the University and the Department of Education. It also contributes to improving the quality of education and training of future teachers, which is a strategic goal for the country`s education system.
