The tasks of postdoctoral fellows for 2024 have been discussed

Today, February 9, 2024, under the chairmanship of the Director of the Department of Science, Professor U. Abdigapbarova, a meeting was held with postdoctoral fellows of Abai University. During the meeting, the tasks of postdoctoral fellows for 2024were discussed, a new Regulation of Postdoctoral Program was presented.

Professor U. Abdigapbarova emphasized the importance of postdoctoral program for young people aspiring to pursue a career in science, noting that Abai University is one of the first universities in the country that implemented a postdoctoral program. Thus, in 2023, the second flow of postdoctoral fellows was graduated with outstanding results.

Current postdoctoral fellows also demonstrate outstanding results: Zh. Baishemirov receives a state scientific scholarship, postdoctoral fellows E. Tleuberdi, D. Sadirbekova, Zh. Zhumabaeva won projects of grant financing from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2023, and E. Tleuberdi entered the TOP-50 young scientists of Kazakhstan. Therefore, they have a special responsibility to share their experience with students and young faculty members of the university. This year, postdoctoral researchers are set to conduct a series of webinars and seminars on four main modules: 1) on searching, selecting, and publishing in international databases such as Scopus and WoS; 2) on clarifying the competition documentation for grant projects and targeted program funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 3) on attracting international experts and scientists to expand the network of international collaborations; 4) on the formation and presentation of StartUp projects. Additionally, there will be the organization of events for the Science Decade and much more.
