University volunteers help elderly people living alone

On December 5, 2023, in honor of the International Day of Volunteers, as part of the week of volunteers (December 4-10), the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy of the Abai Kazakh National University organized the departure of university volunteers to the house of a lonely elderly mother.

Volunteers helped a lonely elderly mother in cleaning doors, harvesting winter fuel and performing work in the household. In turn, an elderly woman expressed gratitude to the volunteers of our university.

In general, university volunteers have a list of seniors who provide care. In winter, volunteers clear the yards of snow, and in the summer they remove weeds, break firewood and remove doors.

The goal of the charity event is to help single mothers, elderly people with disabilities in cleaning and economic work. Helping needy grandparents with housework. This is the formation of such qualities among young people as the desire for work, mercy, humanism.
