Round table dedicated to the 105th anniversary of Kayum Mukhamedkhanov

On December 10, 2021, in honor of the 30th anniversary of independence of our country, the Center «Rukhani zhangyru» of the Abai KazNPU, the Research Center «Hakim Abay» and the Institute of Philology and multilingual education held a round table «Er Kazakh ezhelden yerkindik ansagan...», dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the founder of Abay studies, Auezov studies, Alash studies, literary textology Kayum Mukhamedkhanov.

The purpose of the event, organized within the framework of the state program of Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev «Ruhani zhangyru - bolashakka bagdar», is to popularize the scientific and journalistic heritage of the outstanding scientist Kayum Mukhamedkhanov, to give the younger generation an example of the life path, activities of a unique person, his great contribution to Abay studies and the work of the scientist in the development of the first Abay Museum. The purpose of the event was to educate the younger generation to improve their spiritual knowledge and skills, encourage them to respect and respect the rich heritage, deep knowledge and written works left behind by the great teacher K. Mukhamedkhanov.

Kayum Mukhamedkhanov is a scientist who has devoted his entire life to the science of Abay studies. This year marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of Kayum Mukhamedkhanov, a scientist, textologist, public figure, author of the anthem of the Kazakh SSR, author of more than 1000 scientific works, who left these great heritage to the younger generation.

The Round Table was attended by Vice-Rector for social development of the University Nurlanov Chingiz Nurlanovich, head of the Research Center «Hakim Abay», abaytologist Zhabal Shoynbet, director of the public fund «education and culture named after Kayym Mukhamedkhanov», daughter of Kayym Mukhamedkhanov Mukhamedkhanova Dina Kayymovna, doctor of philology, professor. shakerimologist Baltabay Abdygaziuly, professor of Kojatepe University in Turkey Hüseyin Kahraman Mutlu and more than 250 students and teachers took part in the online ZOOM program. According to the program of the round table, scientists presented research reports and shared their memories of Kayum Mukhamedkhanov.

The Vice-Rector for Social Development Chingiz Nurlanov made a welcoming speech. «Many works of Kayym Mukhamedkhanov in the field of literary criticism have made a huge contribution to the development of Kazakh literature. We must promote the scientific heritage and active social activities of an outstanding scientist, acquaint young people with the life and work of this unique person», he said.

In turn, Dina Mukhamedkhanova thanked for organizing such an event and shared her memories of her father. According to her, in one of his articles, Kayym Mukhamedkhanov wrote that «in 1923, on the orders of Stalin, repressions began against Abai`s work». For this reason, Abay`s texts were distorted and the works of many historical figures were burned, and their photos were destroyed. That is, one goal at that time was to destroy the nation`s treasures. And Kayum Mukhamedkhanov preserved the heritage of the Kazakh people when everything was forbidden. The famous writer Tursyn Zhurtbay has repeatedly emphasized that his main mission was to study the heritage of Abai and the leaders of Alash, the work of Mukhtar Auezov. Only after studying and recognizing these three people will their secret be revealed. Indeed, studying the biography and work path of Kayim Mukhamedkhanov, you are convinced that he was brought up in the spirit of the «Alash» movement, preserved the legacy of Abai and other enlighteners of his native people.
