Meeting with poet, translator Dauren Berikkazhy

On December 8, 2023, members of the club of young translators "Rukhaniyat" under the leadership of N.R. Shengelbaeva, senior teacher of the Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation, Institute of Philology, organized a literary and translation meeting "Dunieni ak paraktai aktaryp..." with the poet and translator, laureate of the International Alash Prize Dauren Berikkazhy.

The event dedicated to the poet`s translation activities, it was opened with a congratulatory speech by the director of the Institute of Philology A.V.Tanzharykova. The meeting took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere, where the poet D. Berikkazhy informed students about the advantages and difficulties of translation work and answered students` questions.

Then the 4th year students performed an excerpt from the novel "Diary" by English writer N.Sparks, translated from English into Kazakh by Dauren Berikkazhy, and also recited the poet`s poems in two languages, for which they received the warm approval of the author.

In turn, the poet-translator, expressing gratitude to the leadership of the university and institute, as well as to the students, presented his autographed books published in different years as souvenirs.

The honorary guests of the literary and translation evening were the head of the department of the state language of the Military Engineering Institute of Radio Engineering and Communications G.Esirkepova, the head of the department of English G.Kaptagaeva, senior teachers S.Baltabayeva, R.K.Orazova, U.Isliyamova, A.M. Sebdayirova and A.Z.Mukhitov.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the Chair N.N. Konkabaeva made a thank-you speech and presented guest D. Berikkazhy with a letter of gratitude and a memorable souvenir from our university.
