International Conference "Ways for development of dual higher and vocational education in the Republic of Kazakhstan: experience of the KAZDUAL project"

On December 5-7, 2023, in Abai KazNPUthere was successfully held the International Conference " Ways for development of dual higher and vocational education in the Republic of Kazakhstan: experience of the KAZDUAL project", organized under the international project # 618835-EPP-1-2020-1-KZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP- "KAZDUAL - Implementiing dual system in Kazakhstan", under the Erasmus+ program.

The conference became a real scientific platform for constructive dialog, bringing together in a hybrid format more than 300 participants from different countries such as Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Kazakhstan.

A vivid confirmation of the value and significance of the conference was the active participation of representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan represented by the National Expert on Higher Education Reform, National Center for Higher Education Development Banu Narbekova, Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education Sholpan Kalanova, external expert of KazDual project Carlos Machado, National Office of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan Laura Paluanova, Institute of Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance ACQUIN Giorina Maratsi, Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies for Higher Education CEENQA Maya Milas, Otto von Gericke University Magdeburg (Germany) Prof. Dr. Frank Bening and Julia Nepomyashcha, Pedagogical University of Tirol (Austria) Ingrid Hotarek and Mario Voitsch, grantholder of the project M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University Aigul Iskakova, National coordinator of the project Bayan Sapargaliyeva, Karaganda University named after academician E. Buketov Svetlana Karstina, as well as Shakarim University of Semey, Karaganda Higher Polytechnic College, Semey Electrotechnical College, Abai KazNPU. The conference was moderated by the head of the project, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Abai KazNPU Yermek Buribayev.

The reports covered such issues as the role of the KazDual project in the development of dual education in Kazakhstan, transfer of European experience, the system of external quality assessment of dual programs, modeling/development, and application of approaches to educational programs, the main roles of responsible participants for dual programs, internal and external quality control, forms and methods of improving the effectiveness of dual educational programs, etc. The presentations of foreign and local experts during the panel sessions, workshops and team-building events were of special interest. According to the results of the conference, a resolution was adopted, and participants were certified.
