New look of the new Kazakhstan: Social unity and modernization

A joint meeting of the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the Department of Political Science and Social and Philosophical Disciplines of the Institute of History and Law was held in Abai KazNPU. The theme was «New look of the new Kazakhstan: Social unity and modernization». The event, dedicated to the Republic Day, was held at the city level. Special guests from the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Ch. Valikhanov, the House of Friendship, ethno-cultural associations and other universities were invited to the meeting.

The purpose of the session is comprehension and discussion of concrete displays of social and political changes in the modern Kazakhstan society, specification of the contents of modernization of the country in its new shape. The moderator is Gulzhikhan Shakharman, the head of the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan at Abai KazNPU.

The session was opened by Shyngys Nurlanov, Vice Rector for Social Development. Professor Sain Borbasov, Advisor to the Director of the Valikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology, gave the keynote presentation. Then the speeches were made by Professor Daurenbek Kusainov, Chairman of the Cultural Centre of Crimean Tatars «Vatandash», member of the Scientific-Expert Group and public consensus council of the APK in Almaty, professor of KazNAU Seyit Babaliyev, Chairman of the Youth wing of ethno-cultural Dungan centre ShinSyn, Deputy Chairman of RPA «Assembly Zhastary» of Almaty Farida Gasizova, Professor of political science and social-philosophical disciplines Serik Nurmuratov. The meeting was concluded with closing remarks by Shyngys Nurlanov, Vice-Rector for Social Development.
