International project-competition «DIGITAL STUDENT» among students 

On 12 April, 2022 as part of the Decade of Science, Head of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation, Professor K.Kh.Abdrakhmanova, teacher N.K. Kospaganbetova organized an international project-competition «DIGITAL STUDENT» among students of Abai KazNPU, Giresun University (Turkey), Azerbaijan Pedagogical University (Azerbaijan).

The event was attended by Associate Professor of Giresun University, Dr. Vedi Ashkaroglu, PhD of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University Mehtizade Gulshen, PhD Ayten Ibragimova, as well as teachers and students of the department. The event began with a welcoming speech from foreign guests. In the competition, groups from different specialties defended a project in English on the topic «DIGITAL STUDENT». The competition was attended by 2 groups of Giresun University, 1 group of Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, 3 groups of Abai KazNPU. The project work of the students was evaluated by a special jury. The winners were determined by language skills, project preparation, relevance.

The competition was held online. The preparation of students was at a very high level. They shared their knowledge by analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of online learning. According to the results of the competition, 2nd year students of the Department of Teaching English of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University took 1st place, 1st year students of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of Abai KazNPU in the specialty 6B0170900 an oriental language teacher with knowledge of English took 2nd place, 3rd year students of the specialty English language and literature of Giresun University took 3rd place.

At the end of the event, the chairman of the jury, Vedi Ashkaroglu, thanked the organizers and students and offered to expand the scope of such a competition and continue it with a large symposium.
