Meeting of the Rector of Abai University with a Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On February 18, 2022, the deputy of Mazhilis of the Parliament of RK Elnur Beisenbayev visited Abai University. During the meeting with the administration of the university the problem of a limited number of places in student dormitories, which is one of the most actual in Almaty, was discussed.

Rector of Abai KazNPU Darkhan Bilyalov spoke about the work being done and projected to implement the Development Strategy of the University and improve the quality of education, as well as plans to build a dormitory. He noted that the site has already been identified, held public hearings on the new dormitory for students of Abai KazNPU. Today the university has about 16,800 students, and the designed capacity of the dormitories is 1,800.

Elnur Beisenbayev acquainted with the work of the university, the living conditions of students in the dormitories. Expressing his opinion on the new initiatives of the leading university of the country, he stressed that the students will be provided all further support from the state, including the acceleration of the planned construction of the hostel. The deputy noted that since the flow of young people to the higher educational institutions is annually increasing, the need to provide them with affordable housing is also growing. In this regard, the work on the construction of new hostels and other ways of solving this urgent issue will be accelerated.
