About Bolashak scholarships

On June 7, 2021 Chairman of the Board-Rector of Abai KazNPU, Darkhan Bilyalov met with the President of JSC «Center for International Programs» Aynur Karbozova.

The meeting was attended by the management, teaching staff and students of our university.

The rector noted the importance of this meeting for improving the quality of higher education. «The Bolashak scholarship is indeed a unique phenomenon, created during the most difficult years for our country by Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev. The Bolashak scholarship has become a kind of social lift for a large number of people, allowing them to realise their potential and innovate in various fields», - said Darkhan Bilyalov.

During the meeting the issues of research internship at master`s and doctoral programs at leading scientific centres and universities around the world were explained within the Bolashak program.

In turn, Aynur Karbozova told about innovations related to the number of scholarships under the «Bolashak» program in the current year and competitive selection. «On May 4 this year we started accepting documents for participation in the competition for awarding Bolashak International Scholarship, established by the First President of Kazakhstan - President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Bolashak program trains personnel and specialists for priority sectors of the country`s economy. The program includes both academic training (master`s, doctoral and residency programs) and scientific and production internships at leading universities and companies around the world,» said the Head of the Centre for International Programs.

Thus, in 2021 for training under the Bolashak program 1,055 scholarships are available. Of these, 385 are for master`s degree programs, 60 - for the programs of doctoral and residency, 110 scholarships are intended for the training of teachers, civil servants, employees in the field of health care, engineers and technicians. 500 scholarships will be awarded to Kazakhstani scientists for internships in leading scientific centres of the world. Scholarship applicants are offered 80 majors for academic studies and 137 majors for internships.

At the conclusion of the meeting a Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation was signed between Abai University and JSC «Center for International Programs».
