Sultan Yertay

 

Dr. Sultan Yertay is an academic dedicated to the fields of literature, journalism, and higher education management. He earned his PhD from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 701, 2018) and is a member of the Presidium of the Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, operating under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Current Roles:

Since May 2024: Vice-Rector for Research Activities and Innovation, Board Member of Non-Profit JSC «Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.»

2023-2024: Vice-Rector for Strategy and International Cooperation, Board Member of Non-Profit JSC «D. Serikbaev East Kazakhstan Technical University»

- 2018-2021, 2023: Acting Associate Professor, Faculty of Journalism, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

- 2021-2022: Research Intern, George Washington University, USA, through the «Bolashak» program.

Education:

- 2011: Graduated with honors in Philology: Kazakh Language, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

- 2013: Graduated in Philology: Literature, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

- 2014-2017: Completed PhD in Literary Studies under the «Education and Science Integration» program between M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

- 2018: PhD Thesis: «Transformation of the Modern Novel,» a comparative analysis of modern English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Kazakh novels.

Publications and Research:

Dr. Yertay`s work has been published in journals included to the Scopus and WOS databases and in scientific journals recognized by the Science and Higher Education Quality Assurance Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is a co-author of several collective monographs and holds several author`s certificates, including an accreditation certificate as a subject of scientific and technical service.
