Start of the competition of scientific projects for primary school students in Almaty

On December 22, 2022, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Department of Primary Education announce the start of a competition of scientific projects for primary school students in Almaty.

Participants of grades 1-4 of educational organizations who have prepared a research paper or project, the structure of which meets the requirements specified in the Regulations on the competition, take part in the Competition on a voluntary basis.

The competition is held in two age groups: Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-4 in the following subject areas:

- educational projects and research in subject areas: Mathematics, Russian (Kazakh, English) Language, Literary Reading, Art, Labor Education, Physical Education, Music, Understanding the World, Natural Science, Digital Literacy;

- social projects.

The main goals and objectives of the Competition are the comprehensive development of the intellectual potential of schoolchildren; involving them in research activities in various fields of science, technology, culture; development of skills in design, scientific, analytical work; practical application of knowledge gained in the learning process; providing students who are prone to research, organizational, methodological support.

The Organizing Committee of the competition recommends holding a school round and selection of works from February 1 to February 10. Issue a protocol of the school round with a recommendation to participate in the semi-finals.

From February 10 to March 1, schoolchildren can improve their projects based on the recommendations of the school round, receive feedback from the supervisor (students, master`s students, teachers, teachers of additional education, parents) and an external review (methodologists, university teachers or scientists on the project profile).

From March 1 to March 10, works are attached to participate in the semi-final stage through the registration form. All participants of the semi-finals will receive letters of thanks.

From March 10 to March 30, a commission of teachers, master`s students and doctoral students of Abay University`s IPP, partner universities and schoolteachers in Almaty, will select works for participation in the final and research papers and projects defense. Participants of the final will receive diplomas of winners (1-3 places).

From April 1 to April 10, a research papers and projects defense and awarding of the winners will take place in Abai University.

The regulations on the competition were developed by a working group consisting of the teaching staff of the Department of Primary Education of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology: M.A.Absatova - Professor; A.E.Zhumabayeva - Head of the department; J.K.Astambayeva - senior lecturer; L.A.Lebedeva - Professor; A.B.Akpaeva - Professor.
