Vacant position:

Head of the Center for Scientometrics and Scientific Publications of the Department of Science

The main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

- Control and coordination of scientific journals of the university for compliance with the Requirements for scientific publications for their inclusion in the List of publications recommended for publishing the results of scientific activities Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- Coordination of activities for the development and content of the website of scientific journals;

- Work on the inclusion of scientific journals of the university in the List of publications recommended for publishing the results of scientific activities Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - the List of Publications);

- Signing and renewal of the Agreement for the inclusion of scientific journals of the university in CrossRef for obtaining DOI numbers for articles;

- Promotion of scientific journals of the university in the global international scientific information databases Scopus, Web of Science, etc., together with the editorial boards of scientific journals;

- Increasing the publication activity of teaching staff in publications indexed in the international databases Scopus, Web of Science, etc.;

- Coordination of the work of the editorial boards of scientific journals and assistance in attracting scientists with high citation rates to the editorial boards and the reviewer base.

Main job responsibilities:

- Expert-analytical monitoring of scientific journals;

- Verification of scientific publications of the university according to the standards of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science and international standards, including scientometric databases Scopus, Web of Science, etc.;

- Organization of seminars of companies Clarivate Analytics, Springer, Scopus and others in the areas of development, improvement and promotion of scientific publications of the university;

- Representation of the university in Kazakhstani and international forums, in associations and organizations for scientometrics and scientific cooperation of the university.

Education:

Higher socio-humanitarian, legal, economic, technical education. Academic degree not lower than Master`s

Required professional experience (duration, scope, other)

At least 5 years of work experience in the academic field.

Professional competencies:

- Drawing up plans and preparation of reports in the state and Russian languages;

- Knowledge of expert-analytical monitoring of the implementation of the plan;

- Skills for the development of internal regulatory documents of the Center and the Department of Science;

- Ability to organize and coordinate the work of scientific journals;

- Skills in conducting business negotiations related to the activities of scientific journals of the university and scientometrics.

Personal competencies and qualities:

Initiative, critical thinking, purposefulness, communication skills, ability to work in a team, ability to quickly adapt to new things, maintaining a balance between personal goals and practical activities at the Center, ICT literacy, responsibility.

Knowledge of languages, including the state language (list of languages that the candidate must speak)

Kazakh - fluently

Russian - fluently

English - read, write, understand at least level B2 Upper-Intermediate

Computer skills:

Fluency in the MS Office package (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), use of digital technologies and Internet resources (ZOOM, Google Drive, etc.), work with websites.
