06.11.2024 Abai University ranks 131st in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025 In the new QS Asia University Rankings 2025, a total of 984 universities from 25 countries across the Asian mega-region participated. In terms of country representation, India, China, and Japan lead the rankings. From Kazakhstan, 35 universities were included in the ranking.
The higher education sector in Kazakhstan has demonstrated unprecedented progress, with 3 universities entering the top 100: Al-Farabi KazNU (29), L.N. Gumilyov ENU (65), and Satbayev University (89). The fourth place among universities in Kazakhstan and Central Asia is occupied by Abai KazNPU.
Abai University has entered the top 150 of the Asian rankings, ranking 131st, which is 15 positions higher compared to last year. The university has shown the best results in academic reputation, graduate employability, and faculty student ratio.
According to Sergei Khristoliubov, QS Regional Director, the number of Kazakhstani participants has set an all-time record in the history of the country`s higher education system, and the average values of the calculated indicators have increased across all methodology criteria. This reflects the systematic work aimed at enhancing global competitiveness. Moreover, as Mr. Khristoliubov states, this year the share of publications by Kazakhstani authors in Q1 and Q2 journals has exceeded 70% for the first time.
Based on the analysis, the main opportunity for further progress in the ranking for our university lies in increasing international scientific collaborations and boosting research productivity.
