The event in honour of Teacher`s Day within the framework of the project "History in Faces and Fates: Outstanding Philologists of Abai University

"In honour of Teacher`s Day, the Russian Language and Literature Department held an event for first-year students within the project "History in Faces and Fates: Outstanding Philologists of Abai University".

The festive meeting was attended by students of different courses, guests, and department professors, many of whom devoted years to teaching and educating worthy teachers. Among them was the veteran of philological science Mariyam Ramazanovna Kondubaeva, who worked at the department for many years. Professors Abisheva Saule Dzhunusovna and Shaibakova Damina Disingaleevna addressed the guys with farewell words. Abayeva Madina Kabulovna told about the succession of generations of teachers-scientists in her family, about her great-grandfather Gali Begaliev, one of the first authors of Kazakh әlipe (alphabet). She showed the students books from her library written by her great-grandfather. There are already 5 generations of philologists in their family, and all of them are connected with the university, Abai KazNPU - they studied here, worked and are working now. This day became warm and heartfelt for everyone. Everyone remembered their teachers and professors. With gratitude and love, they remembered A. L. Zhovtis - a teacher, scientist, and translator, who worked at the university from the late 1970s to the end of the 1990s and made a major contribution to the formation of the Russian Language and Literature Department.
