Specialist courses in Applied Behaviour Analysis

From December 23 to 25, 2023, the Department of Special Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, together with the institution «Kazakhstan Association of Specialists in Applied Behavior Analysis», conducted training courses on the topic «Psychological and pedagogical support for children with autism in the education system». The training courses are designed for parents, specialists working with children with autism spectrum disorders, psychologists and special educators, undergraduates and doctoral students.

The lecturers of the course are Associate Professor G.A. Abayeva and BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), master of Science in Applied Behavior analysis in inclusive education in Canada, consultant on the theory and practice of analysis and behavior change of children and adults, as well as ABA (Applied behavior analysis), member of the International Organization applied behavior analysis by Zukhra Izmailova Qamar.

During the training course, the theory, practice and ethical principles of education and development of children with autism spectrum disorders, the role of teachers in supporting inclusive education in the education system, the application of ABA principles in effective teaching of children with special educational needs, strategies for helping a child with difficult behavior at school, Applied behavioral analysis, certification and development prospects were considered in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, etc.
