Meeting of Abai University rector with leaders of Turkestan region

Today, on December 8, 2023, a meeting of the Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tlep with the Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Tazhibayev Beisenbay, Head of the Department of Education Galymzhan Dzhumashev and Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism Azimkhan Koilybayev took place. During the event a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Abai KazNPU and the state institution «Akim`s Office of Turkestan region».

The aim is to develop cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the National Pilot Project «Zhaili Mektep» on behalf of the Head of State K.K.Tokayev at the enlarged meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on July 14, 2022, as well as the implementation of the Concept of development of pre-school, secondary, technical and vocational education for 2023-2029.

Bolat Tlep emphasised the urgent problem of shortage of teaching staff in schools, the importance of the quality of education and training of future teachers, as well as the need to improve the qualifications of teachers. He paid special attention to the careful quality control of teacher training and retraining courses, as it directly affects the level of education of students.

Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University, gave a detailed introduction to the activities of the Centre for Continuing Education, spoke about the professional development and retraining courses for teachers and managers of preschool and secondary education, as well as about the PGCE retraining programs.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the «Zhaili Mektep» project, staffing, shortage of principals and teachers in secondary general education institutions, as well as the quality of education, staff training, teacher training courses and exchange of experience.

At the end, a Memorandum of Co-operation was signed.
