Abai University hosts an international conference on the development of dual education in Kazakhstan

Today, on December 5, 2023, started the International Conference "Ways of development of dual higher and vocational education in the Republic of Kazakhstan: experience of the KAZDUAL project", organized by Abai University within the framework of the international project № 618835-EPP-1-2020-1-KZ-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP- "KAZDUAL - Implementation of dual system in Kazakhstan" of Erasmus+ program. The event will last until December 7, 2023.

The aim is to create a dialog platform for the exchange of experience on the introduction of dual education in Kazakhstan. The main focus is on the transformation of the system of higher and vocational education through the integration of efforts of educational institutions, enterprises and government agencies to improve the professional competence of students in accordance with the needs of the labor market.

The conference gathered representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education of Kazakhstan, Erasmus+ National Office in Kazakhstan, ACQUIN Institute of Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance, CEENQA Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. Leading universities and colleges from Kazakhstan, Germany, Austria and Estonia are also participating.

In her speech at the opening of the conference, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization Aktolkyn Kulsarieva spoke about the positive results achieved within the framework of the KAZDUAL project. She noted that Abai University is actively forming a significant fund of theoretical knowledge on dual education, as well as effective technologies for its integration into the educational process.

At the plenary sessions, panel sessions and workshops will be discussed topical issues of practical implementation and pilot accreditation of dual system in educational institutions. International education specialists, certified trainers and members of the national team of the KazDual project will present their experience and expertise.
