Education for a sustainable future: from Finland to Kazakhstan

The head of the UNESCO Chair of Pedagogy and Teacher Training of the Abai KazNPU, Associate Professor Zh.T.Tilekova and researcher of the Department N.Zh.Opabekov took part in the conference "Education for Sustainable Development (ESD): from Finland to Kazakhstan", held on November 27, 2023 at "NARXOZ" University together with the Embassy of Finland and MediaNet.

High-level speakers of the Government of Finland and National Institutes of the Republic of Kazakhstan made presentations at the conference: Director of the Secretariat of International Relations of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland Kirsi Lindroos; Vice-President of the National Academy of Education named after Altynsarina Aida Akhmetzhanova;, Founding Director, Sustainable Kazakhstan Research Institute (Narxoz University) Brendan Duprey and Education National Professional Officer, UNESCO Almaty Regional Office Meirgul Alpysbayeva, The event was aimed at raising awareness of national-level programs and projects in the field of EDS sponsored by the Embassy of Finland. The participants shared completed projects of SKR and MediNet, as well as plans for the future in this regard.
