Dedication to first-year students

On November 24, 2023, teachers of the discipline "Turkish Language" of the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology organized the evening "Ceremony of Acceptance into the Student ranks" of 1st year students studying the Turkish language. The event, which coincided with the celebration of Teacher`s Day in Turkey, was opened by the head of the Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation, N.N. Konkabaeva, with a congratulatory speech. The festival was attended by Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Philology A. A. Naimanbaev and Deputy Director for Educational Work, A. U. Abdykalikov, who noted the importance and place of the department`s staff at the university level. Students choosing the Turkish language always have priority in terms of numbers, close ties have been established with Turkish universities, and educational programs for academic mobility of students and undergraduates are closely connected with this country.

The guests of honor, who arrived at the invitation of the associate professor of the department E. Z. Esbosynov, were the chairman of the Public Association of the Almaty Foundation of Turkic nations A. Dagduran; public figure and sinologist-Turkologist Professor M. Orazbay. They congratulated the management of the university and the teaching staff of the institute on Turkey`s Teacher`s Day, encouraged students to study, and noted the historical commonality of Turkic languages and culture.

The festive event was organized by senior teachers of Turkish language Satbay G.K., Kospaganbetova N.H. and teacher Ashimova D.M. 25 students of the specialty "Turkish language with knowledge of English" were presented with the collection "World Classics in Turkish" and the textbook "Turkish Language for Entry Level". And 3rd and 4th year students were awarded valuable prizes for high achievements in reading and intellectual competition. Then a concert program was shown with the participation of students of all courses, and a small buffet was organized.
