Forum of Youth Affairs Committees of higher education institutions of Almaty "Koshbasshylar"

On November 23, 2023 in the framework of the student week "Abay", organized by the Committee on Youth Affairs of Abai KazNPU, held a city forum "Koshbasshylar" of committees on youth affairs of city universities. The purpose - strengthening cooperation, sharing experiences, improving the competitiveness of young people, the formation of leadership skills, increasing friendship among students through networking. At the forum, which lasted the whole day, there was a coffee break for participants, special speakers were invited, and training seminars were held.

The event began with the main academic building of our university, where the participants visited the museum of the first higher education institution of the country. Then a seminar-training "Personal Development" was held. It was opened by Rector Bolat Tlep with a welcoming speech. Speakers Skakov Azamat and Kyzaibai Alibek developed the topic "Leadership" in detail. The questions put on the agenda were discussed: "The role of young leaders in shaping the image of the state abroad", "What prevents young people from becoming better leaders?", "How to become a member of such youth organizations?", "Youth and leadership", "How can we develop leadership skills?". The training workshop was followed by a presentation of the Abai student center. It began with the performance of the musical group "Blues bend" and continued with a story about the work of this center.

The forum participants were fully familiarized with the work of the Youth Affairs Committee of our university. The event ended with a master class on "Public Speaking and Self-Presentation", "Speech Mastery", which was conducted by a professional trainer on public speaking, founder of the company "Fabrika oratora" Kuanysh Zhumabaev.

On the basis of exercises, games aimed at the formation of students` speech mastery, development of personal qualities, overcoming one of the biggest human fears - public speaking and various internal fears and anxieties, confident public speaking, students performed various tasks. The speaker shared his experience of speechmanship and its importance, as well as interesting aspects of leadership skills.

At the closing of the forum, the university dance group "Aidai" performed. Then there was a quiz blitz-question "Tez tap" about the first university of Kazakhstan, the history of which has 95 years. The participant who answered the questions correctly was given image gifts of our university. Following the results of the forum, speakers and active participants were awarded with a letter of thanks from the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Abai KazNPU Bolat Tlep and special image prizes.
