We study the literary heritage of Kemel Tokayev

On November 9, 2023, Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology held an educational event "Warrior. Writer. Citizen", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Kemel Tokayev.

The 1st year students learned about the main stages of Kemel Tokayev`s life, about his contribution to the development of the Kazakh detective genre and the moral principles that guided him in his life. Those present watched with interest a documentary about the writer-front-line soldier.

The students prepared a dramatization of a fragment of the story "Special Assignment", read the memoirs of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about his father from the book "Ake turaly oi-tolgau" ("The Word about the Father") and a poem by Syrbai Maulenov dedicated to the writer.

A special atmosphere of the event was given by the performance of famous Kurmangazy`s "Balbirauyn" and a beautiful Kazakh national dance by the students.

The head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, Saule Abisheva, in her address to the students, emphasized the importance of preserving the great heritage of older generations, the need to be a patriot of your country and use all opportunities to improve education and culture.

The deputy director of the Institute of Philology for Educational Work, Arman Abdykalykov, who presented at the event, spoke about the activities of the Charitable Foundation named after Kemel Tokayev for the support of talented students.

The 1st year students of the specialty "Russian language in schools with a non-Russian language of instruction" under the guidance of advisors Aitkazina T.T., Kaskabasova H.S. and Serikova S.K. actively participated in the organization and conduct of the event.
