International cooperation at the Institute of Natural Science and Geography (Institute) is an important component of academic and scientific work. Cooperation plays an important role in the development of scientific research, the exchange of knowledge and the strengthening of ties between scientists and educational institutions in different countries.
The Institute, together with the Center for the Promotion of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) of Okayama University (Japan), with the assistance of UNESCO for Research and Education for Sustainable Development, are working on the project "Promoting Teacher Education for Climate Change Education through Collaboration between Asian Centers of Excellence on Education for Sustainable Development (2021-2023). The project involves scientists from nine Asian countries, such as: China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines and Thailand.
Teaching staff of the Institute studied under the International Program "Bolashak"at leading universities and research centers in the world, for example George Washington University (Washington, USA), Necmettin Erbakan University (Konya, Turkey), Sapienza - Università di Roma (Rome, Italy), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Illinois, USA), University of California Davis (California, USA), University of Reading (UK).
Under the academic mobility program, students, undergraduates and doctoral students undergo scientific internship at the universities of Poland, Japan, Lithuania, Turkey, Uzbekistan and other countries.
The Institute holds annual international conferences and youth forums in all scientific areas of the institute, in which scientists from many CIS countries, Europe and Asia participate. This provides an opportunity for scientists to present their research, exchange new ideas and establish contacts with colleagues from different countries.
