Department of commercialization of the results of scientific and technical activities develops activities to stimulate the commercial orientation of scientific research of the university.
The Department provides consulting services in the design of commercialization projects for participation in various competitions, launching startup companies.
Collects information and forms a register of promising innovative projects, technologies and developments.
Analyzes the register of promising innovative projects, technologies and developments for conducting preliminary marketing research and developing strategies/solutions for further commercialization.
Searches for partners (entrepreneurs, investors) interested in commercialization of promising innovative projects and technologies.
Responsible for the organization of work on the examination of effective innovative projects of Abai KazNPU and third-party organizations for selection and investment for commercial attractiveness.
Assists in the preparation of various types of products (models, layouts, samples, new products, materials and substances) for innovative projects of Abai KazNPU for submission to technological exhibitions of various levels related to the innovation activities of Abai KazNPU.
In the period from 2016 to 2021, the Department participated in the development and support of research projects and commercialization. The Department has supported more than 60 scientific and technical projects of the University under grant financing programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the World Bank, and International projects.
Grant funding from the World Bank got 2 of the project: - In 2017-2020 the project «Production of pilot samples of disc turbines and components for micro-hydro power different power and organization of industrial production» has received grant funding in the amount of 230 million tenge, due to this, in 2018 was launched start-up company «Water Energy». - In 2019, the Department won 105 million tenge in the framework of grant funding from the World Bank on the development of the office of commercialization. The Department is actively working on the implementing of dual education in Kazakhstan within the framework of international projects, among which joint projects with GeKaVOC on the study of the German experience of dual education can be noted. The Department participated in the development of the KazDual project within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, in 2020 a grant worth 73 thousand Euros was won. The Department participated in the online seminar «On the implementation of the KazDual project at Abai KazNPU» with the report «Entrepreneurship and dual education». The Abai KazNPU participated in the competitions to attract investments related to innovation activities: - «Easy Physics» in the semi-finals of the «Astana Hub Battle» startup exhibition competition of the «Astana Hub» International IT startup techno park held within the framework of the Digital Bridge International Forum. - «Cheap Wind Power» was presented in the semi-finals of the international Climate Launchpad competition initiated by the leading European movement in the field of climate innovation.
Trainings on the basics of entrepreneurship, including online webinars, are held for teaching staff, doctoral students and undergraduates. In particular, a webinar was held on the topic: «Is entrepreneurial University a fashion tribute or a necessity?».
In 2019, a competition «Startup Bolashak: Menin Armanym» was held within Abai KazNPU campus together with Al-Farabi KazNU, AlmaU, in which more than 59 projects from the city of Almaty took part. The event was attended by the president of Synergy University - Kasymbergebayev Baurzhan, the head of the construction company Sheberbuild - Sauranbayev Yeraly, business coach AlmaU, CEO and co-founder of the educational startup «Kach» - Sadykov A., founder of Almaty Hostel Dom the best hostel in Kazakhstan - Islambakiev Sh., founder of the sites balmuzdak.net and grants.kz, SMM manager of Salem Social Media. As part of the competition, business trainings were held for all participants.
In the period from 2018 to the present, the Department has organized educational paid courses: «Innovative technologies in teaching «Abaitanu», «Modern forms and technologies of social pedagogue», «Inclusive Education», «Innovations and pedagogical management in preschool education», «Interactive methods of teaching natural science subjects», «English language courses», «Summer School for foreign students». In the period from 2018 to 2021, 12 million tenge of extra-budgetary funds were attracted.
A financial analysis of 6 experimental journals was carried out.
Negotiations were held with JSC «Science Foundation» and a cooperation agreement was concluded. In 2021, a seminar was held with JSC «Science Foundation» on the topic: «Problems of commercialization of scientific developments and ways to overcome them».
Negotiations were held with NCE «Atameken» for joint projects. Employees of the Department participate in trainings of NCE «Atameken» on advanced training under the program «Business Advisor», «Business design».
The analysis of the STEM technology market and the search for potential partners in the field of STEM technology has been carried out.
In addition, the work of the Department in accordance with the Law on Commercialization involves the launch of startups. The creation of startups cannot be carried out without purposeful and systematic work. In other words, it is necessary to create a business incubator and introduce elements of the strategy of an entrepreneurial university.
