The First Eurasian Forum of Editors of scientific Journals "East - West: Authority And Potential" was held in Azerbaijan

On March 16-17, 2023, the First Eurasian Forum of Editors of Scientific Journals "East - West: Authority And Potential" was held in Baku (Azerbaijan), initiated by the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Khazar University and the Kazakh University of Technology and Business. The forum was held with the support of The Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education of RK (CQAFSHE RK), Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and "Akbastau Gardens" LLP.

The guests of the forum were welcomed by the founder of Khazar University, academician Professor Hamlet Isakhanli and Rector Professor Irada Khalilova, Deputy Chairman of CQAFSHE RK Adilzhan Nurzhanov, Head of the Center for Scientometry and Scientific Publications of Abai University Talgat Kilybayev. The forum was moderated by Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Khazar University Vlad Vernigora and Technical Secretary of the scientific and methodological journal "Pedagogy and Psychology" of Abai University Saule Issalieva.

The forum was attended by representatives of publishing houses, scientific journals, researchers, teachers and university students from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Turkey, Italy, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Poland. Dr. Ildana Khalitova (UNESCO Chair of Abai University, Kazakhstan), Christian Stefanski (Sciendo/De Gruiter, Poland), Academician Professor Tanel Kerikmae (Tallinn Technical University, Estonia), Professor Orhan Valiev (Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khazar University, Azerbaijan), Vlad Vernigora (Khazar University, Azerbaijan) made presentations in the panel section.

Within the framework of the forum, the results of the First International Research Competition "Bilim zhane Bolashak" were summed up, the winners of which presented research projects at the competition of scientific projects "Zhana Izdenister". Representatives of the publishing house Sciendo (De Gruyter) told about the history of the company, published journals and prerequisites for the publication of high-quality academic papers. A new Kazakh-Azerbaijani scientific and methodological journal for master and PhD students "East-West" was presented at the forum. In online and offline formats the participants discussed the publication of scientific articles in highly rated journals, the creation of the Eurasian Association of Scientific Journals, the formation of a single professional platform for interaction between undergraduates and doctoral students from different countries, the creation of scientific collaborations for the purpose of joint researches.
