Students of Abai KazNPU took part in a round table dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Zein Shashkin

On November 30, 2022, 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of gr. RYAL-101, Philology-101, RYAL-202, FEK-203 visited the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where a round table dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the birth of Zein Shashkin was held. The students got acquainted with the life and work of the writer, met with his daughters. Zein Shashkin is an outstanding Kazakh writer, playwright, scientist who experienced the hardships of Soviet totalitarianism: repression, bans on publishing books.

His life is the formation of thorny work, his works are filled with the ideological contradictions of the Soviet era, the hopelessness of the human tragedy of those who found themselves between the millstones of the class struggle.

The event was attended by honorary professors, Honored Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, teachers and students of Abai KazNPU, who felt the atmosphere of that time through the words of Karlygash Zeinovna, the daughter of the writer, who experienced not only the severity, but also the bitterness of her father`s arrest. Visitors learned about the unique poetics of Zein Shashkin`s works, which is characterized by dynamism and ease of narration.

The writer`s work significantly expanded students` knowledge of the rigid system of Soviet totalitarianism and acute social problems of the mid-twentieth century.
