Abai University supported the BILIM DAMU consortium of Kazakh universities in their collaboration with QS Quacquarelli Symonds

On November 8, 2022, the university`s Chairman of the Board - Rector, Darkhan Bilyalov, attended a meeting of Kazakhstan university leaders with Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nunzio Quacquarelli, President of the international rating agency QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The meeting`s participants discussed current issues in higher education development, trends, increasing university competitiveness, and the role of international rankings in Kazakhstan`s integration into the global scientific and educational space.

Through a consulting agreement with QS Quacquarelli Symonds, Abai University supported the BILIM DAMU consortium of Kazakh universities this year. A cooperation agreement was officially signed as part of the event.

During the meeting, the results of the QS World University Rankings: Asia-2023 were published, in which 32 Kazakhstan universities took part, of which al-Farabi Kazakh National University and L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University entered the top 100, and Abai University took 147th place, which corresponds to the 4th place in Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
