Opening of Abai University Speaking Club

On October 26, 2022 the Abai University Speaking Club was officially opened at Abai KazNPU. The event was attended by Chairman of the Board-Rector Darkhan Bilyalov and Vice-Rector for Social Development of Abai KazNPU Shyngys Nurlanov. Guests of the opening ceremony were Chad Kinner from the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty, English Language Program Coordinator Aigul Taitelieva, and American Council representative and Program Coordinator Maksat Koshkarbayev.

Darkhan Bilyalov noted the presented opportunity for the university staff to learn and improve English, and for free. "One of the points of the University Strategy is the principle of "home internationalization" (Knight, 2004). The new club is another step towards implementing our Strategy. In this way we will ensure the improvement of the quality of the university and education in general, as well as the competitiveness of the staff and students of Abai KazNPU. We express our sincere gratitude to our partners", said the Rector.

The symbolic red ribbon of the opening of the Abai University Speaking Club was cut by Chad Kinner and Maksat Koshkarbayev. They wished the club great success.

The event ended with a concert programme of vocal, instrumental and dance performances.
