Professor from the University of Turin (Italy) at Abai University

The expansion of international contacts for Abai University, the Faculty of Philology and the Department of Russian Language and Literature marked the beginning of 2025.

Professor from Turin University (Italy), a Slavic studies scholar, poet, and translator Massimo Maurizio visited Almaty. During his stay, was a guest at the Department of Russian Language and Literature, where he met with the teaching staff and discussed the prospects of joint academic work with the department head, S.D. Abisheva.

Professor Maurizio specializes in the study of modern Russian poetry and is engaged in translations of works of Russian poets of the XX century. During the meeting, possible directions were discussed, including participation in joint research projects, academic exchanges and lectures.

Also within the framework of the visit, the professor met with the Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Abai University B.O. Sapargalieva, where they discussed the development of partnership relations and prospects of international cooperation.

This visit was an important step in strengthening international cooperation and opened new opportunities for the advancement of philological education and science.
