Abai University students returned from Poland after studying on a double degree programme

At the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, students of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the 2nd and 3rd courses of specialities "Russian Language and Literature" and "Russian Language and Literature in schools with non-Russian language of instruction" went to study in Pomeranian University (Słupsk, Poland) under the double diploma programme. They have recently returned to Kazakhstan having successfully completed the next stage of their studies.

The cooperation between Abay KazNPU and Pomeranian University has been actively developing since 2017. During this time, more than 15 students have received European diplomas, opening new academic and professional perspectives for themselves.

The 3rd year students have completed the full programme of study in Poland (3 semesters) and have come out to defend their diplomas. The 2nd year students have completed the first semester of their studies and express their gratitude to the University, the Department of International Cooperation and the lecturers for their support in the organisation of the study process.

In addition to classes at Pomeranian University, students actively participated in the activities of the Abai Centre for Kazakh Culture and Science, as well as in study trips to other cities and countries.

How to apply for the double degree programme?
From April students will be able to start preparing documents for the programme. In the near future, the department, together with senior students, will organise an open lecture for first-year students. The meeting will tell about the process of studying at two universities at the same time, the peculiarities of study, preparation for the trip and the financial side.

In addition, the double diploma programme will be included in the educational programmes of specialties, which will allow students to choose this format of study independently.

The double diploma programme is a unique opportunity to receive quality education in two countries and to graduate with two diplomas, one of which is of European standard.
