Dedicated to 130th anniversary of Ilyas Zhansugurov  

The year 2024 is the year of the 130th anniversary of the birth of three outstanding sons of the Kazakh people - Ilyas Zhansugurov, Saken Seifullin and Beimbet Mailin. The literary lounge "Endowed with a priceless gift" was dedicated to the classic of literature Ilyas Zhansugurov. It was held on 20 December 2024 by the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Abai KazNPU and Specialised Lyceum No. 165.

Lyceum students of the 11th grade prepared a literary composition about the life and work of Ilyas Zhansugurov. Poet, translator, Turkologist Kairat Zhanabaev told the audience about the role of the poet in the history of Kazakh literature. The special guest of the evening was Nurgul Zhauynbaeva, head of the regional literary museum named after I. Zhansugurov (Zhetisu region, Taldykorgan). The participants of the living lounge learnt about the history of the museum, saw the imitated office of the poet, photos, personal belongings of the classic of Kazakh literature: shirt, cloak, books, typewriter, manuscripts. 

 Nurgul Zhauynbaeva showed unique documents - the original passport of the poet with his signature and two last photos taken just before his death. She also told about the expedition to Moscow "In the footsteps of Ilyas".

The sincere, kind conversation about the poet was finished by Saule Abisheva, Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU. She thanked all the participants of the meeting, read the poet`s poem about winter, which sounds like a farewell to young people, because all the poet`s work is an inexhaustible love for his native land.
