Mukagali Makatayev`s poetry evening

On February 17, 2021, Saule Abisheva, Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, spoke at the evening «Poetry of Mukagali Makatayev and the Spiritual Revival of Society» dedicated to the poet`s 90th anniversary. The meeting was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov.

Professor S. Abisheva is the author of the book «The Poetic World of M. Makatayev», therefore her speech was not only emotional, but also a deeply thought-out «word about the poet». All the participants in the evening shared the admiration for the personality of M. Makatayev and love for his poetry expressed in this speech.

The students of the Academy told about the creative biography of the poet, read his works, sang songs based on his poems. It is gratifying that the younger generation of readers picked up the baton of a sensitive understanding of the lyrics of the outstanding Kazakh poet.
