Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repression

On May 31, 2022, the akimat of Medeu district of Almaty and the Department of World History of the Institute of History and Law of Abai KazNPU organized an event for teachers and students of the institute and placed flowers at the Memorial to the victims of political repressions, located in the village of Zhanalyk, Almaty region.

The purpose of the event was to pay tribute to the memory of our ancestors who died in the fight for freedom, to bring up patriotism in the minds of the younger generation through educational work.

During the event, memories of descendants of victims of political repressions were heard and a prayer was recited. In addition, the students were introduced to the museum complex and listened to a lecture on archival sources.
