24.05.2022 Three years of fruitful work of Abai Center of Kazakh Culture and Science in Poland
On May 23, 2022, a meeting dedicated to the third anniversary of the opening of the Center was held at Abai Center of Kazakh Culture and Science at the Department of Neophilology of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland). In honor of this event, a sign of the Center appeared on the facade of the building of the Polish University.
The event was attended by Ms. Joanna Nasyrov, Assistant to the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Gdansk, as a guest of honor. In her speech, she noted that the cooperation between Abai KazNPU and the Pomor Academy is developing fruitfully and serves the cultural and scientific enrichment of both Polish and Kazakh students. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk, Professor Danuta Gerchinska and Doctor of Philology, Professor Galina Nefagina, Head of the Department of Russian Philology.
The Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU, Doctor of Philology, Professor Saule Abisheva also took part in the event via video link. The students of the department, who are currently on a semester study at a Polish university, organized a traditional Kazakh dastarkhan for guests, teachers and students of the Academy, and also made a presentation in which they talked about Kazakhstan, about their hometowns and about studying at Abai KazNPU in Almaty. Polish students listened with interest and asked questions. The event was organized by the Coordinator of the Center, a graduate of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU, and now a teacher of the Pomor Academy, PhD Maxim Ponomarenko.
