Charity event «Walk in the park»

On May 6, 2022, within the social-pedagogical and cultural-educational direction of the club «Meyirim», students volunteers of 1-2 courses of the specialty «6B01801-Social Pedagogy and Self-knowledge» held charity event «Walk in the Park» for people with disabilities of social-rehabilitation centre «ERZI», Almaty.

The social-pedagogical objectives of the event were implemented in a complex of cultural-educational and corrective-developmental games in the nature in the park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen. The cognitive and health-improving action was conducted in the form of social interaction of the participants, namely the use of art-therapeutic methods (conversations, performance of inspiring poems and songs about life, dancing to quiet beautiful music or listening to it, etc.). Each art therapy involves learning the value orientations of social and pedagogical work. Quiet, fresh air in the park, the abundance of greenery, the fragrance of flowers and other plants reduce fatigue and stress. An active form of recreation for a person with a disability has the function of psychological relaxation, which promotes physical rehabilitation and has great humanitarian potential.

At the end of the event, best wishes were given to the active groups identified in the creative work, and all participants were treated to ice cream and refreshments. The results of the students` volunteering activities in the rehabilitation and social inclusion of people with disabilities are reflected in their ability to successfully socialise. This is the main means of their integration into society.
