Opening of the Akhmet Baitursynuly Centre

On April 27, 2022 at Abai KazNPU grand opening of the Centre named after Akhmet Baitursynuly was held, dedicated to 150-years anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure, the leader of the nation Akhmet Baitursynuly. This event was initiated by Institute of Philology of Abai KazNPU.

The opening ceremony was attended by the rector of the university Darkhan Bilyalov, famous public and political figure, people`s writer, Hero of the Labour of Kazakhstan Olzhas Suleimenov, A. Baitursynuly`s niece Ayman Baisalova, representatives of A. Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, M. Auezov Institute of literature and art, A.Baitursynuly House-museum, famous scientists, cultural workers and artists, teachers, university students and mass media.

During the ceremony the management of A. Baitursynuly house-museum presented the collection of A. Baitursynuly`s works in 6 volumes and other books to the new Centre.

Darhan Bilalov congratulated Abai University on such a significant event and stressed the importance of opening of the centre. «This year is the 150th birthday anniversary of spiritual leader Akhmet Baitursynuly. The Abai University staff always respected the names of Alash figures headed by Akhmet Baitursynuly. It is important to inculcate their valuable legacy in the minds of the younger generation. This will serve to shape patriotism and devotion to the country in future specialists. I think that the traditions of education and upbringing established by the Teacher of the Nation will be continued in the new centre in line with modern requirements.

Olzhas Suleimenov talked about the activity of Akhmet Baitursynuly in the sphere of education and science and pointed out the necessity of respect to the history of Kazakhstan, its figures, great personalities and intellectuals.

Within the framework of this event the International scientific-practical conference on «Heritage of Akhmet Baitursynuly and national values» was held. It was attended by members of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Nurtore Zhusip and Zhanarbek Ashimzhan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey Ali Riza Akinzhi, Professor of Nijmegen Radbaud University (Kingdom of the Netherlands) Robert Hermers, Rector of the Pomeranian Academy Zbigniew Osadovsky (Poland), scientists and professors from foreign and domestic universities, the director of the series «Akhmet Baitursynuly. Teacher of the Nation» Murat Yeszhan, famous actor, honored worker of RK Baigali Yesenaliev, who played the main role in the film, and others.

During the conference were discussed the actual problems of modern philology through the prism of history; the heritage of the leaders of «Alash» party: language, spirituality, methods of teaching; the problems of oriental studies, translation in Ahmet Baitursynov`s work; the questions of continuity of the pedagogical heritage and principles of modern education.

The conference was held at a high level and aroused great interest among all participants.
