Integrated competition «The animal world in Kazakhstani poetry»
The November 30, 2021, Abai KazNPU hosted an integrated competition «The animal world in Kazakhstani poetry», held by the efforts of two institutes - the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education and the Institute of Natural Science and Geography. This is the first time such a joint event is held at the university. The initiators and organizers of the competition were the teachers of the Department of Russian Language and Literature, Buzaubagarova K.S., Abayeva M.K., the «Biology» EP, Batyrova K.I. and Master, Dzhunusova R. Zh.
The main goal of the event was the formation of the student`s ecological culture through Kazakh poetry in order to ensure a sustainable future. The event was timed to coincide with a big date - the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan`s independence. The competition was attended by 3rd year students of the Kazakh branch of the specialty Biology. Future biologists were able to solve various tasks and problem situations by means of the Russian language: to assess the information received, to speak publicly on professional topics, to demonstrate oratorical skills. Thus, the students created wonderful book trailers for O. Suleimenov`s poem «Little Wolf», brilliantly coped with the task of implementing the challenge «In my area of responsibility» and offered interesting solutions to preserve one of the most important national resources and components of nature - the animal world, to create conditions for replenishing biodiversity. An excerpt from the series based on the novel «The Path of Abai» by M. Auezov allowed the students to turn to the episode of Abai`s hunting with a golden eagle as a possible circumstance for the birth of a poetic text.
The integrated competition turned into a bright holiday. It was interesting to everyone. And the fans with passion tried to bring additional points to their teams. The situations taken from works of art were close to the life and professional experience of the students and had a vivid emotional and motivating influence on them. The organizers of the event are convinced that an integrated approach that unites literature and biology provides opportunities for the formation of culture, including ecological and moral and personal attitudes to nature as a universal value for all humanity.
