Science is an integral part of our department`s mission. We strive to create an environment that supports high-quality research and innovative activities for students, undergraduates, and doctoral candidates. Our teaching staff actively participates in international conferences, publishes articles in leading scientific journals, and works on solving pressing problems in modern society.


We have a team of highly qualified teachers and researchers, including candidates and doctors of science. They actively engage in scientific activities, publish their work in prestigious publications, present at international conferences, and conduct their own research. Their contributions to science and education at our department are invaluable.


Today, the scientific potential of our department is supported by a team of highly qualified professionals. Among them are: Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, R.B. Absattarov, as well as Doctors of Science, Professors Zh.K. Simtikov, D.U. Kussainov, Zh.A. Kabaeva, and A.Zh. Mukazhanova. Additionally, we have 9 candidates of science, associate professors, 7 PhD doctors, and masters.


The objectives of the integration of educational and scientific activities of the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines are to staff scientific research, improve the quality of student training in educational programs, attract students to conduct research under the supervision of researchers, use new knowledge and scientific achievements in educational activities, and conduct research in the fields of history, methodology of social science, sociology, politics, education, communication, conflict, ethnicity and national interaction, political science, philosophy, and organizational sociology. The staff of the department actively participates in various scientific projects.. Since 2020, more than 10 major projects funded by the EOM and 4 scientific projects funded by Abai KazNPU have been completed. In addition to these statistics, our department has also demonstrated high scientometric indicators. During the period 2020-2023, the faculty of the department published 25 scientific articles in foreign journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science. Overall, the faculty has published approximately 300 works over the years, including 86 publications in journals recommended by the National Science and Science Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 15 publications in foreign journals, over 50 publications in national journals of the Republic, about 40 articles and/or abstracts presented at international and national conferences held in the Republic, and over 100 articles and/or abstracts at international, national, and regional conferences organized in the country. Additionally, 21 books have been published.


The lecturer of our department, Yerzhanov Yerkebulan Daukenbaevich, is the holder of an international scholarship called "Bolashak". He completed an internship at Hacettepe University in Turkey from January 2nd, 2022, to January 2nd, 2023, in the field of anthropology.


In addition, in 2023, two other members of our department, Dr. Kuanyshbaeva Zh. Zh. and Dr. Saparov B., became winners of the "500 Scientists" scientific internship competition under the Bolashak program.


Also, the scientific potential of our department is represented by talented young scientists. Every year, the department graduates master`s and PhD students in the fields of cultural studies, political science, and sociology. In 2023, 8 undergraduate students graduated from the department. Four doctoral students successfully defended their dissertations.


In addition, our undergraduate and graduate students regularly participate in internships at foreign universities, which helps them expand their scientific horizons, acquire new knowledge, and develop their skills.


This year, students Sabyrgalieva Zhansaya and Kenes Gulim received the "Best Student of the Commonwealth of Independent States" medal and first-degree diplomas, which is a testament to their outstanding achievements in academic and research activities.


The number of undergraduate and doctoral students who completed internships at foreign universities in 2023 amounted to 11. This indicates that students and doctoral candidates have the opportunity to gain international experience and develop their scientific skills.


The scientific activity of the department`s students, undergraduates, and doctoral students is of a high level and has a wide range, as evidenced by significant awards and successful theses.


We continue to expand partnerships with scientific and educational institutions abroad, which opens up new possibilities for joint projects and knowledge exchange. Participation in international conferences and contests allows our students, PhD candidates, and faculty to present their research at the global level, which in turn contributes to the promotion of science and education at our department and university.


The Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines is a center of innovation and ideas, where science and education work together in synergy. We believe that the continued development of our research and the training of highly qualified specialists will contribute to solving the social, political, and cultural challenges faced by modern society.


Considering the excellent results of our department`s work, we aim not only to maintain our current level but also to continuously improve it. We welcome new ideas and initiatives that can help take science in our country to the next level.
