The Department has a student scientific club for in-depth study of the Kazakh language «Til-tanym». Heads of the club: senior lecturer Meruert Sarsenbekovna Alibayeva and associate professor Saule Nurgali.

The purpose of the work of the scientific club is active inclusion of students in the process of self-education and self-development, creation and development of favorable conditions for the formation of popular specialists through intensification of research activities of students. Students of the scientific club «Tіl tagylymy» issue their newspaper once in 3 months. The most important task of the student scientific club is the organization and conduct of research activities.

Members of the club take an active part in the organization of the solemn evening of «Tәuelsizdіk dep sogady zhuregіmіz», dedicated to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan. For the purpose of forming patriotic upbringing, see performances, for example, 12.10.2017, «Kyz Zhibek», hold round tables dedicated to the annual Addresses of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Language Day and its development, language knowledge contests.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the University, a round table was held on the theme «National University is the right choice».

Members of the club take an active part in all the activities of the university, the directorate, the Department.

Also at the Department there is a student scientific circle «Pedagogical rhetoric», organized by a section of teachers of the Russian language. Head of the circle: professor Gulmira Abzalkhanovna Kazhigaliyeva.

The purpose of the circle is to form and develop the professional and creative potential of future teachers by mastering the foundations of pedagogical rhetoric, and the main idea is to promote students` self-realization, develop and support their interest in the future profession of the teacher, and develop students` rhetoric skills.

Participants of the circle are students of the first year of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, as well as of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports.

The frequency of conducting classes is once a month.

The participants of the circle learn the basic concepts and terms of general and pedagogical rhetoric, basic strategies and tactics of conflict-free pedagogical communication, with features of oratorical speech: oral form of communication; presence of «feedback»; access to the content of speech for listeners; the ability to organically switch from a book-written form of speech to a living one and vice versa; use of various means of communication (linguistic and paralinguistic); the ability to maintain composure in front of the audience; time-oriented and appropriate use of technical means and visual aids; establishing contact with the audience and achieving the desired effect on it, etc. All of the above features of speech and knowledge about them contribute to a competent public speech at student scientific conferences. Also, students during the lessons of the circle get acquainted with the main types of speech activity, the culture of speech of a teacher, consider the types, functions, genres of pedagogical communication.

At the closing sessions, the participants of the circle speak with a public speech of pedagogical content. The best performances are marked by letters.
