Students and undergraduates of the Institute of History and Law visited the Central State Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On April 15, 2024, 2nd year students of the specialty «6B01601-History», 1st year undergraduates of the specialty «7M01603-History: digital technologies in historical education» with a lecturer of the Department of New and Contemporary History of Kazakhstan named after. Academician T.S. Sadykov Idrissova Aidana. visited the Central State Archive of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CSA RK).

Reading room employee Kabdush K.S. told the students about the long history of the archive, the rules of work in the reading room and current exhibitions of documents. The visit to the archive storage room aroused great interest among students. Head of the department for ensuring the safety of documents of the National Archive Fund: Kulmukhanbet Z.Zh. explained the storage conditions for different types of documents and answered all students` questions. The excursion to the department of restoration and digitalization of archival documents deserves special attention. The head of this department is Aitkazy A.M. showed the students the digitization process. Students and undergraduates also saw the full cycle of document restoration. This allows you to stop the process of paper destruction, extend the life of documents and preserve them for future generations. As a result of the excursion, students and undergraduates learned a lot about the work of the archive and became interested in working with individual archive funds in the reading room.
