The views of Turkish scientists on the history of the Golden Horde

April 10, 2024 Abai Kaznpu University, Institute of history and law, The Department of history of Kazakhstan in ancient and medieval times held an international round table on the topic "views of Turkish scientists on the study of the history of the Golden Horde state" within the framework of the "decade of Science - 2024".

Professor Abdullah Gundogdy, doctor of Historical Sciences, shared valuable information about the history and historiography of the Ulus of Jochi. He especially focused on the history of the Middle Ages and connected it with the studies of history of the XX-th century. He also spoke about the campaigns of Genghis Khan in Central Asia and the formation of Ulus as a state. He also spoke deeply about the fate of the indigenous Turkic peoples of Turkestan. Mr. Chetin Kaya, PhD, presented a report on the place and meaning of the Chagatai Khanate in the history of Turkestan, stretching from the Semirechye region to the Mauerennahr region.

Mr. chetin gave valuable information about the activities and rule of Chagatai, his second child, starting with the Empire of Genghis Khan. He noted how much these topics are being studied in Turkey and how fast the translation of archival documents is being published. The formation of the Chagatai state was connected with neighboring countries. With such large states as khorezmshakh, the Temir state, the Ilkhans in the Middle East and the Golden Horde, the history lived on an equal footing. The administrative management system was carried out by the laws of Genghis Khan. At the same time, a large state - Mughals-continued in this region. Thus, the Mongol invasion and Chagatai Khanate had a profound impact on the administrative, political, cultural, demographic and economic fate of Turkestan`s geography. The most important factor in this period was the territory of Turkestan, which was under the rule of the conquering dynasties rather than the local Turkic dynasties. Although the life of the Chagatai Khanate covered a period of one hundred and fifty years, the influence of this state on the history of Turkestan continued for centuries after its collapse.

The Round Table was attended by students and teachers of the Institute. Foreign scientists were asked questions and discussed.
