Intellectual game for students: development of logical thinking

April 19, 2019, at al-Farabi Kazakh National Universityal, the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology held the inter-university intellectual game «League of Chemists». The teams «Kushshashy» and «Bolashak» from students of 2-3 courses in the specialty «5B011200-Chemistry» of the Department of Chemistry of the Institute of Natural Science and Geography of Abai KazNPU took part in it. The teams performed well and were awarded diplomas of II-III degrees. The team leader is a senior teacher of the chemistry department Zhanar Zhaksibaeva.

The objectives of the game: to expand the knowledge of students, to develop cognitive interest, intelligence, to cultivate the desire for continuous improvement of their knowledge; form friendly, companionship, ability to work as a team.

10 student teams from six universities of Almaty participated in the competition: Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abai KazNPU, KazNMUnamed after S.D.Asfendiyarov, Kazakh Medical University of Continuing Education (2 teams), KazNTUnamed after K.I. Satpayev, Kazakh State Women`s Pedagogical University (1 team). The contest consisted of 5 stages. Students scored points by answering difficult questions that develop logical thinking. The winning teams received diplomas and cash certificates.
