A branch of the department «Geography and Ecology» was opened at the Talgar private lyceum-boarding school No. 1

On January 17, 2024, in the private boarding lyceum No. 1, located in the city of Talgar, Almaty region, a branch of the Department of Geography and Ecology of the Institute of Natural Science and Geography of Abai KazNPU was opened. This was due to many years of bilateral relations and a memorandum signed at the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic year, a plan was set for opening a branch of the department. Thus, in the geography classroom of the lyceum, modern textbooks on the subject appeared (textbooks, globes, atlases, series of maps, interactive panels, laptops, 3D printers, meteorological stations providing automated electronic solutions, waterproof gazebos used in field research, administrative and political map world in 3D design, etc.). The necessary equipment was installed and put into operation. In the future, leading specialists of the department, authors of geography textbooks, will supervise the preparation of lyceum students for various scientific projects, Olympiads and organize teaching practice for students. It is planned to conduct joint collaborative research with subject teachers and experimental work with the participation of gifted students. In addition, the authors of school textbooks and GIS technology specialists working at the department will conduct master classes and provide methodological support.
