Excursion to the Asphalt Concrete Plant

On June 1, 2022, the lecturers of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography conducted practical training in accordance with the Academic Calendar 2021/2022. The 2nd year students of the specialty «6B05301-Chemistry» in the framework of this event made an informative excursion to the Asphalt Concrete Plant (ACP) of Almaty.

The students were allowed inside the plant in compliance with all safety regulations. Employees of plant told, that this industrial enterprise produces asphalt-concrete and bituminous-mineral mixes, used at construction and repair of road covering, and emphasized the importance of this work for national economy. Also at the asphalt plant the following technological operations are performed: reception and storage of raw materials for preparation of asphalt-concrete mixture; crushing and sorting of crushed stone and sand; batching of mineral materials, their heating and drying; warehousing, storage and shipment of the finished products.

The students, divided into several groups, got acquainted with many installations of the plant and saw the process of their work. Obviously, today`s excursion was another special day for future practitioners and scientists. Getting to know the factory equipment is one of the great opportunities for students!
