Universiade-2021: Fencing

On May 24-31, 2021 seven university teams took part in the fencing contest within the framework of the XI Summer Universiade in Almaty. The rules of this sport are quite strict. The time limit for each bout is no more than six minutes. Competitors must land clear shots with their edged weapons and avoid lunges of their opponents. There are also other rules. The main thing is that a contestant who has not dropped and put down his or her sword or rapier before the opponent wins.

According to the results of the fencing tournament the team of Abai KazNPU took the 3rd place among girls.
