Ayala Ecoclub

The head of the "Ayala" eco-club, professor of Abai KazNPU, K.Sh. Bakirova, is one of the active ecologists of the country. Together with the members of the club she participated in the International scientific-practical conference "Ecological problems in universities, colleges and schools: the experience of green activities" within the project "Green school - green college - green university" as a system of ecologization of education.

The report presented the activities of the Ayala eco-club. Particular attention was paid to the activities related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in KazNPU named after Abay. Examples and experience of involvement of public organizations in joint work with students, undergraduates and teaching staff of the university, in environmental actions were given.

SDG #17 - partnership for sustainable development. The establishment of partnerships between NGOs, students, faculty of Abai KazNPU and other universities at the local level is a prerequisite for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. These relationships must be built on a shared vision and common goals that focus on the interests of stakeholders, humanity and the planet as a whole. At the Recycle birge level, students, Masters students and faculty share experiences and address common issues on sustainable development, assess progress or regress at the local level, identify gaps and emerging issues, and recommend corrective actions.

Photos were sent to the international conference, where the students of our university (N. Zhumagali and A. Altynbekova) prepared pictures on the themes "Plastic Pandemic" and on the green space of Abai KazNPU - "Fountain Filter for Drinking Water". The annual conference at the L.N. Gumilyov ENU serves as an excellent educational platform, a scientific platform for all active environmentalists, who are trying to implement the SDGs and make their educational institutions greener. During several years members of the club participate in all events, organized by the Department of social pedagogy of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, international conferences, seminars and summer schools, where they exchange opinions and experiences with specialists from Kazakhstan and CIS countries, as well as promote progressive scientific thoughts and ideas among young people. The positive experience in this direction motivates the participants in numerous environmental actions and volunteer movements.

Participation in such forums plays a great role in the implementation of plans for the "greening" of the university and the promotion of Abai KazNPU from the 8th place to a higher level in the Global Green Metric Ranking. As you know, the Green Metric Ranking of World Universities is the only ranking that measures the commitment of universities to sustainable development.
