Undergraduates visiting the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On March 16, 2022 Senior Lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Abai KazNPU Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education Yergali Esbosynov and undergraduates visited the National Library of Kazakhstan. The Masters students studying Turkish took part in a book donation ceremony in the Iranian book corner of the library. Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, Dr. Muhsin Fagani attended the event and warmly welcomed the library management and readers. After the ceremony Yergali Esbosynov had a brief meeting with the Consul General of Iran. During the meeting, they exchanged views on teaching Oriental languages including Persian at the Department of Oriental Philology.

They also met with Salima Tuyakova, head of the World Literature Department of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She spoke about the structure of the library, the book fund, attracting young people to read books, the ability to work with paper and electronic catalogues, about managing technical support for dissertations and checking scientific works for anti-plagiarism. The 1st year undergraduates of the specialty «7M01703- Foreign language: two foreign languages»  Nurmahambetova Asem, Zhangirbay Diana and Sahova Eliza expressed their concern questions of students and undergraduates and expressed their gratitude for comprehensive answers. Then a short excursion to the reading halls and thematic catalogues of the library was held.

Communication with the foreign diplomat and the specialists of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan showed once again that the public work of the department is constantly replenished with useful events and important meetings.
